What is 2.16 repeating as a fraction?

As in: 2.16666666 (etc.) What is it as a fraction? Thank you xD

Answer 1

Call 2.16666666 (etc.) x

x = 2.16666666 (etc.)
10x = 21.666666 (etc.)
100x = 216.666666 (etc.)

100x – 10x = 216.666666 (etc.) – 21.666666 (etc.)

You do this so that the .6666666 (etc.) cancel out.

100x – 10x = 216.666666 (etc.) – 21.666666 (etc.) = 195

90x = 195

x = 195/90

Cancel down = 13/6
Can also be written as 2 1/6 (2 and one sixths)

I would stick with 13/6 (13 over 6) because it’s a fraction.

Answer 2

2 1/6
or 13/6 as an improper fraction.

How I get that ?
I know 1/4 is .25 so 1/4 is too big.
1/5 = .20
when I lugged 1/3 in to calculator I go the .16666 repeating.
