What does “the person you have called is unavailable right now please try your call again later mean?

I have tried calling a friend several times. The phone rings twice and then a message comes on that states “the person you have called is unavailable right now please try your call again later” Is their phone disconnected? Is it temporary? I have also heard that they could be out of their coverage area. If I sent a text several hours before I called would they get it when they got back in the area? My friend only has a cell phone so this is the only number I have for her.

Answer 1

Her phone is turned off or she is out of coverage area. Or she could be just rejecting your call, but if everytime the phone rings twice and you hear the message, then probably it’s not the case.

With the text, she probably turn the phone on or she had full bars for a while.

You will just have to try until she turns the phone on or be in coverage area again.

Answer 2

Hmm if her phone is dead then it wouldn’t ring 3 times probably one and if it says it’s unavailable she would be talking on the phone with someone. I don’t exactly remember what it means when it says that sorry. Maybe try visiting her.

Answer 3

My friend died in May. Today, I looked at her name on my phone, I called to see if her voice was still there. I got this message. RIP LORI. I miss you.
